Print Tips by Use Case

A few suggested setups for common classroom and study needs.

  • Blank outline practice: Print the US map at 80% zoom in the print dialog β€” this gives students room to write in state names and capitals by hand.
  • Region study unit: Print US Regions in portrait with background graphics on. The color-coded table carries the key information even in black-and-white copies.
  • State report template: Any state page printed in portrait gives a clean one-sheet profile: facts, cities, and a small map. Useful as a starter template for essays and presentations.
  • Classroom handouts: Save the page as PDF first, then print multiple copies from the PDF. This keeps layout consistent across printers.
  • Bulletin-board posters: For larger-than-letter output, print to PDF and use the "Poster" or "Tile" print setting on your printer to split the map across multiple sheets.
