The Eastern Time Zone is the most populous in the United States, covering major cities like New York, Miami, Boston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. It spans from Maine to Florida along the Atlantic coast and extends westward through parts of the Midwest.

The Alaska Time Zone covers most of Alaska including Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau. It's 1 hour behind Pacific Time and 4 hours behind Eastern Time. The westernmost Aleutian Islands use Hawaii-Aleutian Time instead.

Hawaii-Aleutian Time covers Hawaii and Alaska's western Aleutian Islands. Hawaii does not observe Daylight Saving Time, staying on HST year-round. It's the westernmost time zone in the United States, 5 hours behind Eastern Time.
